Mobility Scooters
What if I lose my key?
If you can’t find your mobility scooter key, there are a few steps you can take. First, contact your dealer. If you bought your mobility scooter from a local brick and mortar, you are in luck—scooter keys are the same for the vast majority of models.
If you can’t contact your dealer, find a dealer near you via our dealer locator.
To move the scooter without a key, put it in freewheel mode, you can find the lever under the seat. The scooter can be manually pushed in neutral gear.
Do I need a driving licence to operate a mobility scooter?
No, you do not need a license to drive a mobility scooter. We do recommend you to be careful, especially if you have not been active in traffic for a while.
Does my mobility scooter need maintenance?
Yes. Just like a car, mobility scooters require regular maintenance. General maintenance includes tire inspection, overall cleaning, battery maintenance, making sure the lights work and replacing parts when needed.
Is there any difference between 3-wheel and 4-wheel scooters (apart from the number of wheels)?
4-wheel scooters usually have a wider wheelbase than their 3-wheel counterparts. 3-wheel scooters are more compact, lightweight, and have a shorter turning radius than 4-wheel scooters.
Can I carry passengers on my mobility scooter?
No, our mobility scooters are designed to bear the weight of one individual (the user). We recommend against carrying a person with you on your mobility scooter. If you try to do so, your mobility scooter can topple, and both you and the passenger may get injured.
Where can I find the serial number?
Your serial number is a total of 14 characters long. You can find it in your manual, on page 2, or on the back of the booklet.
On the mobility scooter itself, you can find it in between the batteries, or on a white sticker on the chair mast.
How often do I need to charge the batteries?
How can I get my mobility scooter repaired?
If you use your mobility scooter every day and put a lot of miles on it, eventually, repairs may be needed. Whether it’s a simple repair or something more complicated, your provider can help! Regular service checks are vital to keeping your scooter running smoothly.
Motorized scooters must be serviced by an authorized Pride provider. Our providers are trained to perform diagnostic testing and repairs. Give your provider a call and schedule an appointment if you need service for your mobility scooter. For safety reasons, we do not recommend consumers perform their own mobility scooter repairs.
